Mid Sussex District Council has recently formed a new Commercial Services and Contracts division to bring its key, front line contracted services together under one team. This department oversees Leisure, Waste, Landscaping and Parking Services.
Mid Sussex are currently seeking two competent Waste Contract Monitoring Officers to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and monitoring the council’s waste contracts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining Performance Management Systems, whilst ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction with both the contractor and Council’s waste team.
Salary £25,463 pa - £27,358 pa + Car allowance up to £1,239 pa
On a wider scale, your role will contribute towards the achievement of national, regional, and Local waste and recycling targets to reduce waste growth, and increase recycling and composting. Your work will have vital impact, raising awareness of sustainable waste management, with a view to changing people’s perceptions about waste.
To be successful in the role, we’ll expect you to have a thorough working knowledge of Waste Contracts, as well environmental legislation and Health and Safety systems.
You’ll be the key point of contact for our contractors and customers, excellent communication and negotiation skills are therefore essential in this role.
To keep on top of the Council’s Waste and Recycling Contracts, you’ll need great project management and organisation skills.
