Do you have a passion for outdoor leisure? Are you determined to make a difference and offer exceptional customer service? Can you use that passion and determination to encourage the local community to make use of the outdoor leisure facilities on offer in Mid Sussex?

We have recently formed a new Commercial Services and Contracts division to bring key, front line contracted services together under one team. This division oversees Waste, Landscaping, Leisure and Parking Services.

About you

Mid Sussex have a fantastic opportunity available for an individual looking to develop a career within Local Authority outdoor leisure services as an Outdoor Leisure Officer.

You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in leisure management and also of working with external contractors and stakeholders. An ability to prioritise your own work load is essential. You’ll also be a key point of contact for our customers, contractors and elected members so exceptional communication skills are a must. Your work will have a tangible impact, raising awareness of outdoor leisure services, with a view to engaging more of our residents in the facilities we offer.

Mid Sussex District Council is forward-thinking and our future is exciting – we need like-minded people to drive our ambitious agenda forward.

About us

Possibly the most exciting thing about joining Mid Sussex at this point, is taking on a role that offers the opportunity to shape a newly formed service and truly make the role your own. You’ll also have the opportunity to continue to develop your skills and experience in a supportive and friendly environment.

We’re in a strong financial position and will be using this to reinvest in our services – particularly in embracing new technologies. Combined with a significant growth agenda our aim is to achieve more for the residents of Mid Sussex.

This is a great time for an ambitious individual to join an authority with aspirations to match.

Closing date: Monday 4 February
Interview dates: Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 February
